Referral Rewards

We know from your feedback that you and your students have benefited from ISE educational travel programs. We know that you talk about ISE with other teachers considering a travel opportunity with their students. We value your willingness to share your enthusiasm about the ISE experience and we want to offer you some encouragement to continue!

How it works

First, please read through this information carefully!

ISE will reward you a $100 Classroom Grant for every teacher that you refer to us. The teacher must travel with a group of students. The Classroom Grant may be used towards your own personal expenses while traveling abroad with your own students or it may be used for classroom materials.  All you have to do is tell others about us!

If this interests you, let us know so we can send you a package of postcards you can use to refer others to ISE. Just fill in the blank on the bottom of the postcards with your name. When a teacher sends the postcard in to request more information, you will be listed as their referring teacher. If they end up traveling, you receive the reward! At the end of each registration period (December), a check will be mailed to you for the total number of rewards you should receive.

Remember, some teachers may not send in their postcard but rather call ISE or visit our website. We still want to give you credit! Please feel free to email a program coordinator to let them know whom you referred and/or remind teachers to mention your name when they call ISE.

Talking Points

You already know what you love about ISE. Please talk about that!

Here are some additional things you can mention:

The number one thing that you should talk about with potential travelers is ISE’s mission:

To inspire and educate students of the world through experiential learning across cultures.

Don’t forget to mentionthat ISE is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization! But what does that mean? Being a nonprofit organization provides ISE the unique opportunity to focus energy, talent and values on educational improvement and enrichment versus growing a profit. ISE is obligated to understand our role as an entity that engages and inspires educators and students for public benefit, and to conduct our activities with transparency, integrity and accountability. For all who experience educational travel with ISE, it means we are committed to using our resources to meet our mission and provide high quality programs for as many of you as we can while remaining fiscally solvent for future generations.

Among the many ways we support our mission and nonprofit status, ISE awards: Teacher Classroom Grants, Teacher Award Grants to State Foreign and World Language Associations, Teacher Award Grants to AATF, AATG, AATSP, Most Valuable Traveler Awards for Language Use and Leadership to students, Student Best Letter and Best Photo Awards, and Student Alumnus Scholarship.

What else sets ISE apart?

  • True Family Stays focusing on the target language usage and cultural immersion  (one student per family, except Cuernvaca Te Espera program)
  • Variety of itineraries with or without family stay
  • FINANCIAL AID for qualifying students and the possibility of college credit
  • ISE Teacher Workshop and classroom preparation materials
  • Liability insurance policy for the teacher
  • Cancellation and medical insurance
  • Upfront and honest pricing with no membership fees
  • No risk of major changes being made to your itinerary at the last minute
  • ISE is committed to building relationships with teachers.  We provide you with your own program coordinator who helps you along every bit of the way.  You will always deal with the same person who knows who you are and knows about your program (and can speak to you in the target language, if you prefer!).

ISE is also a member of the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits, the Better Business Bureau, ACTFL, AATSP, AATG and AATF.

Program Specifics

Remember that ISE offers programs for Spanish, German, French, and Mandarin speakers! Feel free to discuss our programs to all your world language colleagues. You may not know specific details about all of our programs. That’s ok! In fact, we would rather you talk about the above points, rather than program specifics like travel dates or prices. An ISE program coordinator will follow up with potential travelers and answer any program questions they may have.

Please also encourage teachers to visit our web site where they can sign up for additional information and establish contact with an ISE coordinator.
