Student Alumnus College Scholarship

One $2,000 scholarship is awarded each year to a student who traveled as a JUNIOR or SENIOR on an ISE program. Students are nominated by their ISE teacher. Download a nomination form.

Eligibility criteria: participation in current program year as a junior or senior, outstanding leadership, excellent academic standing, involvement in school and community life, a plan to continue foreign language study in college.

Nomination letters must be received by August 31 in the year the student traveled. Nominees must submit their application materials by November 15 of the year they traveled. Most Valuable Traveler (MVT) Award

There are two categories: leadership and use of target language on ISE program. One student from each whole group can be nominated by leader(s). Download a nomination form

Every MVT nominee receives a recognition certificate. At the end of the program year, all nominees for each category are entered into a drawing to win $250.

There are two MVT winners per country. Certificates are mailed during the summer. Winners of grants are notified by mail in late August or early September.

Best Letter Award

Three winners are selected for each language: 1 ^st place ($150), 2 ^nd place ($100), 3 ^rd place ($50).

Teachers nominate one candidate when they submit letters to ISE. Criteria include: overall impression, creativity, and use of language. Final recipients are chosen by ISE departments and winners are announced at the Teacher Workshop banquet and notified by mail. Download a nomination form.

Best Photo Contest

Three winners are selected from among all entrees: 1 ^st place ($150), 2 ^nd place ($100), 3 ^rd place ($50). 

Criteria: creativity, composition, overall quality, usefulness to ISE for promotional purposes, uniqueness, having captured a special moment. Winners are chosen in early September and announced in fall newsletter and notified by mail. All photos submitted may be used by ISE in promotional material.
