Alternate Arrangements

FUEL AND LUGGAGE SURCHARGES

Fuel surcharges are not included in ISE program prices. They will be assessed at the time of final billing. As of December 2009, fuel surcharges average:
$204 for flights to China
$240 for flights to Costa Rica
$240 for flights to Ecuador
$290 for flights to Europe
$100-$180 for flights to Mexico
$0-$240 for flights to Panama
$0-$100 for flights to Puerto Rico
$200-$290 for flights to Peru
$15 for flights to Quebec

Baggage fees: As of December 2009, most airlines are now charging $20-$50 per bag each way for the first checked bag. Additional fees based on size, weight and additional pieces may apply. These fees must be paid by the passenger at check in. Please check airline web sites for the most current baggage fee policies.

GROUP SIZE

Program prices are based on a minimum of 32, 24, 16 or 10 students (see individual itineraries for details). ISE makes all efforts to combine schools to reach the minimum size but cannot guarantee this. If the number of participating students does not reach the minimum, a small group supplement will apply. The amount depends on the actual number of students and itinerary.

OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES

Optional activities can be arranged by ISE for the whole group only. No individual arrangements can be made. Costs for optional activities will be added to the program price at final billing.

HOTELS/ROOMING

Student accommodations are based on 3 or 4 students per room (triples/quads).

Leader accommodations during the itinerary and family stay are based on two leaders per room (double/twin). Single room accomodations cost more. Single room supplements vary by destination and itinerary. Please contact your ISE coordinator for details.

Adult participants may require unique hotel accomodations that entail additional costs. These costs vary by destination and itinerary. Please contact your ISE coordinator for details.

AIR ARRANGEMENTS

Early departure/late return: Participants on summer programs may change either their outbound or return flight (subject to fare rules and restrictions). Participants will be charged an administrative fee of $100 for requests postmarked on or before April 1 and $200 for requests postmarked April 2 or later, plus any additional charges made by the airline for the date or routing selected. ISE cannot guarantee that alternate flights are available. Each subsequent change request will carry an added $100 ISE service fee. No requests for changes will be accepted within 45 days of departure. Participants are responsible for their own transportation to and from their departure and arrival airports.

To change a flight a parent/guardian must submit the Alternate Flight Request and Release Form for Students to ISE. ISE and the group leader cannot be responsible for the participant, and insurance coverage is not effective, while the participant is traveling separately from the ISE group.

Alternative Flight Request and Rlease Form for Leaders and Adults

Own Air: Participants who wish to arrange their own air must inform ISE when they register. They may deduct $600 (Europe/Peru/Asia programs) or $400 (Costa Rica/Mexico/Quebec programs) from their program price. No requests for "own air" credit can be made after registration. No credit is possible for partially flown itineraries or one way tickets. ISE and the group leader cannot be responsible for the participant in any way, and insurance coverage is not effective, while the participant is traveling separately from the ISE group.  If participant is not using any or all of the ISE provided flights, a parent/guardian must sign a release form provided by ISE.
