This area is designed to provide cultural consideration to any country-specific lessons you are using in your classroom. You can use the resources with any of the materials you put together in preparation for your program abroad.
Goals for this area include:
- Students will understand what culture is;
- Students will know important concepts about culture such as products, practices and perspectives and how these relate to each other;
- Students will apply learned cultural concepts to their own culture through interesting exercises and activities;
- Students will develop critical thinking skills that will enable them to better evaluate and respond to cultural differences;
- Students will be familiar with important trans-cultural issues they will likely encounter when abroad.
