Teacher Benefits
ISE knows that traveling abroad is a financial investment. For this reason we include various financial benefits to our teachers and students, such as leader stipends and entry fee allowances.
Teachers who lead our programs are also covered under our $5,000,000 liability insurance policy and enjoy health coverage for sickness or accidents while traveling abroad.
Benefits to teachers traveling on published programs
- One teacher travels free with 8 students
- Register at least 16 students to receive a $500 grant for classroom materials
- Coverage under our $5,000,000.00 liability insurance policy and health insurance while traveling
- Stipends to help defray personal costs for meals and incidentals:
- Receive $50 for each student you register by the Early Bird deadline of June 15 of the year prior to travel
- Receive $25 for each student you register after the June 15th deadline
Benefits to teachers traveling on custom programs
- Stipends to help defray personal costs for meals and incidentals are determined by the teacher in charge of the custom program.
- Coverage under our $5,000,000.00 liability insurance policy and health insurance while traveling
Benefits to teachers volunteering for the U.S. Hosting Program
- Receive $50 for each U.S. family you assign to a student coming from abroad
- Be a local coordinator and receive $100 per student for 1-7 placements and $125 per student for 8 or more placements
- Teach a 40-hour conversational English course and receive $125 per student (minimum of 10 students to run this program)
- Be an Activities Program Coordinator and receive $125 per student (minimum of 8 students to run this program)
An Allowance for Entry Fees & Activities for Self-guided programs to Europe
This will be paid to the main organizing teacher in the form of a check from ISE. Teachers use these funds to pay on-site for museum entrances, etc.
- 21-day Summer Self-guided programs: receive $70 per student
- 15-day Spring and Summer Self-guided programs: receive $50 per student
- 10-day Spring and Summer Self-guided programs: receive $40 per student
- 15-day Summer Staff-guided program: These fees are included in the itinerary and the staff guide handles these funds on-site on behalf of the group.
Entrance fees and activity allowances are included in the itinerary for programs to Mexico, Costa Rica, Peru and are not paid out to teachers directly.
Entrance fees and activity allowances for custom programs are determined by the teacher in charge of the custom program.
