This is a sample itinerary. Your actual itinerary will be assigned by ISE in accordance with the family stay community. Daily activities and sightseeing will be chosen by the group leader(s).

DAY 1 DEPARTURE: En route to Madrid

DAY 2 MADRID: Arrive in Madrid; transfer to hotel and begin exploring on foot. Learn about the metro and visit some principal plazas: Plaza de España, Plaza de Cibeles, and the Plaza del Descubrimiento. Enjoy an ISE welcome dinner. (D)

DAYS 3-5 MADRID: Discover the wonders of Old Madrid: Palacio Real, Prado, Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol. Visit Retiro Park. Take a walk down Madrid's main avenues: Gran Vía and Alcalá. Be amused by the life-like figures at the Museo de Cera. Depart for an all-day excursion to Caídos, Escorial and incredible Segovia. (3B)

DAY 6 GRANADA: After an early breakfast, visit Toledo on your way to glorious Granada. From your motorcoach enjoy the views of the sun-drenched rolling hills and the olive plantations of Andalucía. Arrive in time for a late afternoon promenade. (B)

DAY 7 GRANADA: Explore the lower city, including a stop at the Capilla Real to pay respects to Los Reyes Católicos. Make your way to the treasures of Moorish Spain: the Alhambra and Generalife. Don’t miss your chance to attend an optional flamenco show for a colorful evening of music and dance. (B)

DAY 8 SEVILLA: Travel to hospitable Sevilla in time for a late afternoon stroll along picturesque streets lined with orange trees. (B)

DAYS 9 & 10 SEVILLA: Walk through historic Sevilla; visit Barrio de Santa Cruz, Plaza de España, the Catedral; climb the Giralda Tower to get a view of the city. Relax in María Luisa Park after shopping on Sierpes Street; take a paddle-wheel boat up and down the Guadalquivir and take a photo of the Torre de Oro. (2B)

DAY 11 CORDOBA: Board the bus bound for Córdoba to see the awesome Mezquita built during the splendor of the Moorish civilization. (B)

DAYS 12-19 FAMILY STAY: At last, depart to meet your Spanish host family! Experience everyday life with your familia española, growing in language skills and in cultural awareness. (Meals at home)

DAY 20 MADRID: Return to Madrid and enjoy an ISE farewell dinner. (B,D)

DAY 21 RETURN: Transfer to airport and return to U.S. (B)

21-day Self-Guided Program: Prices are based on a minimum group size of 32 students from combined schools and a minimum teacher/student ratio of 1:8. When minimum group size is not reached, a small-group supplement will apply.
