21 day program itinerary with confirmed dates: July 5-25, 2012
July 5 Depature: Depart Minneapolis for Beijing.**
July 6-8 Beijing: Explore historic Beijing including the Forbidden City, Beihei Park, Wang Fu Jin Street and an excursion to the Great Wall.
July 9-14 Kunming: Take Mandarin language classes and live in the dorms at the University of Yunnan in Kunming.
July 15-19 Lugu Lake: Visit a Yi village and participate in activities with the villagers and their families. Work on projects relating to the region’s cultural, biological and geographical diversity.
July 20 Lijiang: Explore the ancient capital of the Naxi people.
July 21-22 Sha Xi: Climb Shibaoshan Holy Mountain and explore the temples of the Bai people; experience cultural aspects of the local Bai population in Sha Xi ancient town.
July 23-24 Beijing: Present final projects and further explore the Chinese capital.
July 25: Return to Minneapolis from Beijing.**
*Price may increase with fewer than 20 participants.
**Program begins and ends in Minneapolis. Participants are responsible for transportation to and from Minneapolis. Local hotel accommodations will be provided one night prior to departure and the night of return to Minneapolis at an additional cost.
Prices are based on a minimum group size of 15 students. When minimum group size is not reached, a small-group supplement will apply
